If you’ve taken time out from your holistic therapy business, it can be daunting to build it up again. That’s where the Holistic Therapy Restart Roadmap comes in.

The tips I’ll share will also help new therapists and those who would like to increase their bookings.

Here’s what we’ll cover:-

  • Letting your clients you’re offering treatments again,
  • Giving them a reason to book now rather than later,
  • Making it super easy for clients to book,
  • #1 easiest way to attract new clients, practically on autopilot,
  • How to massively increase your rebookings and referrals.

Contacting your existing or past clients

The easiest and quickest way to get started again is to contact your clients and tell them you’re available for treatments again. Let them know how excited you are to be back in the therapy room and how much you love it.

If possible, send personal messages, texts or emails, especially if you know the clients well. You can, if you like, say why you haven’t been seeing clients, but no need to be very personal. Maybe you’re just getting started after covid, or your work hours changed etc.

Encourage them to book now

A great way to do this is to offer mini vouchers for a limited time, maybe for anyone who books a full treatment within the next two weeks. You could let the clients know the value of the mini treatment, people love to know they’re getting a great deal!

What exactly is a mini voucher?

It’s a voucher for an add-on treatment also known as a treatment enhancement or treatment upgrade that they can use with a full treatment. Mini treatments are low cost to you in terms of time and money, but they are a big benefit to your clients.

Here’s some examples of mini treatments you might offer:-

  • A mini head massage,
  • Reiki or IET
  • Aromatherapy upgrade
  • A hand or foot sugar scrub,
  • A mini facial rejuvenation treatment, check out my other post here,
  • Body brushing
  • Extra time (so their 60 minute treatment will be 75 minutes for no extra cost)

I suggest 10 to 15 minutes extra for your mini treatments.

If you can offer a range of mini treatments, why not share your “mini enhancement menu” with your clients, and let them choose their own mini treatment? It’s enticing, and it also lets your clients know what you offer, they may even book a paid mini enhancement with their next treatment.

Making it easy to book

Have you ever seen a social media post, and you’d like to know more about, but it's not obvious where you should go? Or been on a website and not seeing a Buy Now button? It’s frustrating, and the chances are that not only will you give up pretty quickly but that you’ll probably never go back to that profile or site.

So make it easy for your clients to book by giving multiple options that you include in your social media posts, your newsletters, website, Google my business, physical literature (Business cards, brochures) etc including:-

  • Email,
  • Text,
  • Phone,
  • WhatsApp,
  • A contact form (if you have one on your website)
  • An online booking option. Setmore is free and easy to use, it made a big difference to my bookings.

#1 way to attract new clients

You’ve probably heard of Google My Business. When search for something on Google, you'll quite often see a map with a list of businesses beside it. It's very visible, and it gets a lot of clicks.

4 reasons to get a Google My Business Listing (if you don’t already have one):-

  • It gets you more clients,
  • It’s free,
  • It’s easy to set up,
  • It will take a couple of hours, max,
  • It’s practically set and forget (posts are helpful but optional, and you will need to update it as your business changes

Getting reviews on Google My Business

Getting reviews is SO important for your business. When clients are booking with a new therapist, and they don’t have a word of mouth recommendation, the vast majority will check the reviews before making an appointment.

Once you have set up on Google My Business, try and get as many testimonials as you can.

And that can be as straightforward as just emailing or texting your clients after their first visit, and asking them would they mind leaving you a review on Google My Business.

Give them the link to your Google My Business reviews. If it’s not easy to find, the chances are they will intend to come back, but forget.
