How to Raise Your Rates And Increase Your Bookings with Simple Products

If you're worried about raising your rates, I know how terrifying it can be. You might think, "If I raise my rates, my clients will go somewhere else." But the chances are you won’t. Clients get to know their therapists—they trust you, they feel safe with you, and they know you understand their aches and pains. They're unlikely to change because of a small price increase.

Also, people know you're running a business. They understand you need to make a living. So while I can 100% understand the worry, it's often unfounded.

One of the most effective ways to make it easier to raise your rates is by adding more value.

Instead of just saying, "My rates are going up," you can say, "I’m upgrading my treatments. I’m adding this amazing product, and my rates will go up, but just by €10."

Easy Product Ideas to Upgrade Your Treatments

Here are examples of simple products you can offer—some with essential oils, and some without. So no matter where you are on your aromatherapy journey, there is a powerful product you can use in your treatments.

Sugar Scrubs

Absolutely beautiful and really simple to make. All you need is caster sugar and a good vegetable oil. If you're an aromatherapist, you can add essential oils. If not, use herbs like lavender, rosemary, or peppermint, or try herbal teas or floral waters for a gorgeous scent and added relaxation.

Aromatherapy Inhalers

Aromatherapy inhalers are perfect for clients dealing with stress, anxiety, or panic attacks. If you use the same blend you used in their treatment, it can bring back the calming feeling of the session and prolong the benefits.

I had a client with severe panic attacks. But as soon as she smelled the blend I used in her treatments, she remembered how she felt during the treatment and the panic attack didn't happen!

Massage Oils and Balms

Whether it's a pain balm or a relaxing oil, these can make treatments feel extra luxurious. Aromatherapists can add essential oils, but even non-aromatherapists can use nourishing carrier oils with amazing results.

Moisturisers for Facial Treatments

Create a personalized moisturiser your client can take home after a facial. Again, essential oils are optional, you can make beautiful products with aloe vera gel, vegetable oils and floral water.

Once you’ve created your product, it’s time to spread the word:

• Try it yourself

• Offer it free to one of your regular clients

• If you're just starting out, and you don't have any clients yet, offer it to a friend or family member

• Text clients with a quick message: “I’m now offering an absolutely gorgeous sugar scrub. It’s so nourishing and relaxing—my prices are going from €50 to €60.”

• Alternatively, give them the option of the upgrade for an extra charge.  

• Share in your newsletter, website, and on social media.

Tip: Use Short Video Snippets

These work brilliantly!

Record a quick 10–20 second clip of you using the new product during a treatment (no need to show faces). For example, spooning a sugar scrub into your hand and massaging a client’s feet.

Add your booking link and a short explanation of the benefits of the upgrade.
